This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in their work and is looking to develop within a thriving production environment where quality and precision are paramount.The successful CNC Turner / CNC Machinist will be capable of both setting and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality machined components. Experience programming Fanuc controls is highly desirable and would be a significant advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesSet and operate CNC lathes to produce precision-machined components to tight tolerancesWrite and edit part programmes using Fanuc controls (conversational and/or G-code)Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specificationsSelect and set appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting parametersCarry out first-off and in-process inspection using standard measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)Maintain consistent quality standards and ensure components meet customer specificationsPerform routine machine maintenance and report any faults or tooling issues promptlyWork efficiently within a team-based machine shop to meet production targetsMaintain a clean, organised and safe working area in line with company proceduresSkills & Experience RequiredEssential:Proven CNC turning experience - setting and operatingAbility to work from engineering drawings and technical specificationsCompetent use of precision measuring equipmentGood understanding of tooling, speeds and feeds for turning operationsHigh attention to detail and a commitment to qualityAbility to work to production schedules in a busy machine shop environmentDesirable:CNC Programming experience with Fanuc controlsExperience working across a range of materials (steel, aluminium, brass, plastics)Multi-axis turning or sub-spindle experienceRecognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualificationWhat's on OfferSalary up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experienceDouble day shift pattern - no permanent nights (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, alternating weekly)Stable, long-established business with a strong and varied order bookSupportive team environment within a well-equipped, busy machine shop
