Job Summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician with a special interest in Maternal Medicine and Intrapartum care. You will join a team of 27 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital. This post covers antenatal clinics, caesarean section lists, intrapartum care and obstetric SPA e.g., Labour Ward Lead. Acute care will be resident obstetric days and nights. All acute services including the labour ward are based at the Princess Royal site. Elective activity can be provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.
Main Duties
* Maternal Medicine Antenatal clinics
* Resident Obstetric shifts (acute work, days and nights)
* Elective caesarean section lists
* Opportunity for special interest clinics e.g., breech clinic/ECV dependent on the skills of the postholder
* Participation in ATAIN and PMRT reviews
Qualifications
* MBBS, MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
* MRCOG or equivalent
* SITMs/ATSMs in Obstetric / Maternal Medicine or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
* ATSM Labour Ward Lead or proven interest / experience
* Higher degree
Entry Criteria
* Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via one of the following:
o Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
o Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
Salary and Contract
£113,565 to £150,569 a year per annum.
