Senior / Principal Transport Planner - Team Lead

Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join a multi-discipline consultants expanding Birmingham team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll work on diverse and complex projects, helping to shape sustainable, effective transport solutions nationwide.
The Role
As a key member of our transport planning team, you will:
* Lead the development and delivery of complex transport planning projects
* Manage project inputs from site acquisition through to planning application and discharge of conditions
* Oversee Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, and strategies for residential, retail, education, and mixed-use schemes
* Provide expert advice to clients, ensuring their objectives are understood and delivered with precision
* Support and mentor junior staff, helping to develop team capability and cohesion
* Contribute to business growth through high-quality consultancy and project management
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running with strong technical and commercial acumen. You should have:
* Proven experience delivering transport planning projects in a consultancy setting
* In-depth knowledge of NPPF, Section 278 and 106 agreements, and sustainable transport solutions
* Proficiency in TRICS, PICADY, ARCADY, and a working knowledge of LINSIG
* Experience with junction design (signalised, roundabouts) and transport modelling methods
* A proactive, solution-focused approach and confidence in client-facing roles
