We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Biology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Birmingham, starting ASAP. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will support students of varying abilities, ensuring all learners are challenged, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
* Assess, track, and monitor student progress effectively
* Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in the classroom
* Prepare students for GCSE and, where applicable, A-level examinations
* Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the science department
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Have a strong subject knowledge in Biology
* Have experience teaching Biology at secondary level
* Be enthusiastic, organised, and reflective in their practice
* Have strong classroom management skills
* Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
