Due to an upcoming relocation and expansion, we are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist/Telephonist to join our current team to work up to 40hrs a week. Hours of work Monday to Friday, between 08.00am-19.30pm with an additional, paid extra rota for Saturday morning 8.30am-11am.
As the first point of contact, our receptionists play a vital role in ensuring that our clients and their pets have a welcoming and positive experience. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a warm and compassionate demeanour, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
Main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to;
Liaising with the clients and the clinical staff to provide a high level of customer care.
Meeting and greeting clients and pets.
Booking appointments and diary management.
Managing telephone and email enquiries.
Taking payment for services and products.
Managing cash and end-of-day banking.
Maintaining a clean and safe space for our clients and their pets.

Summerhill Vet Centre is a small animal one site, well equipped practice based in Fakenham, Norfolk, we are an RCVS accredited general practice and a training practice for veterinary nurses, we regularly take on new graduate vets and support them through their early years. We have many longstanding members of staff.
Our team of 6 vets include those with additional certificates and qualifications including the certificate in Small Animal Surgery, certificate in Emergency Medicine and Surgery, certificate in Advanced Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery, RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in Emergency and Critical Care, RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in Small Animal Surgery and certificate in Diagnostic Imaging, certificate in Ophthalmology and diploma in Advanced Veterinary Practice Sciences. This means we are able to offer a wide range of surgery and care including local referrals. We provide our own out-of-hours service. Our team of 11 veterinary nurses and 2 veterinary care assistants have a variety of interests and further qualifications which means we can also offer additional specialised nurse's clinics and care packages. We have 4 office staff who share the administration roles, insurance and practice management roles.
We are a friendly practice with a common goal amongst all staff to provide the best care to our patients and clients and require someone who shares this aim.
