Transport Planner

Salary c.£34K – £37K DOE
On behalf of our client, a leading storage and logistics provider within UK and ROI. McKinty Associates are seeking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and IT skills and have previous experience within a transport role using a bespoke transport planning package.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Plan and schedule transport, instructing drivers and loading assembly.
2. Route optimisation and fleet coordination.
3. Customer communications, providing updates on shipments/times/changes.
4. Provide solutions for customers through efficient planning in a professional and timely manner.
5. Compliance documentation.
6. Using bespoke transport management systems.
7. Monitoring and reporting ensuring strict customer KPI’s are achieved.
8. Coordinate with key stakeholders including Warehouse, Operations, Customer service and Finance. Reporting to Transport Manager.
9. Ensure that our track record of excellent customer service is demonstrated at all times.
Eligibility criteria:
10. Previous experience working in a fast-paced transport planning role (Minimum 2 years’ experience)
11. UK and ROI transport experience
12. Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word
13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
14. Excellent Geographical knowledge of Ireland and UK
15. Accuracy and attention to detail
16. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and workload
17. An ability to work independently and as part of a team
18. Excellent time management skills
