Role Overview
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage client and Mott MacDonald obligations across clean and waste water and environmental projects. You will work within the Environment & Water Portfolio, collaborating with advisory, project and programme management teams to deliver project deliverables to client expectations. You will be responsible for driving innovation, providing advice, managing stakeholders, and ensuring strong project governance.

Candidate Specification
Essential
* Quantity Surveying degree or related discipline or extensive experience in programme and project commercial pre‑ and post‑contract activities, including cost management.
* Ideally Chartered MRICS or working towards this status, with a commitment to CPD.
* Extensive experience setting and implementing procurement strategies, running tenders, and advising on contract conditions and amendments, particularly NEC.
* Demonstrable experience in commercial and cost standards and procedures, with strong commercial decision‑making skills.
* Experience in commercial management and administration of contracts, writing, placing and administrating NEC contracts and use of CEMAR or similar.
* Contract and procurement advice, cost analysis, due diligence, cost control, forecasting, monitoring, cost reporting and post‑contract management to meet funding and governance requirements.
* Experience developing a Commercial and Cost Team, establishing roles, responsibilities and accountabilities.
* Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills with effective communication across project delivery, client, supply chain and stakeholder teams.
* Excellent IT skills, oral and written communication, organisational and analytical thinking.
* Flexibility in work location; potential travel 2‑3 times per week.
Desirable
* Experience in water, environment and regulated industries.
* Ability to operate autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience using electronic measurement systems and other cost and contract management tools.
* Commitment to sustainability, environment and health & safety.
