Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: UK Field Based
About the role:
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll drive new business across Central England & East Anglia, selling BSI Knowledge Solutions and Membership subscriptions. This is a home-based role focused on identifying white-space opportunities, building a strong new business pipeline, and converting prospects into long-term customers.
You’ll be suited to this role if you come from a specific industry sector and have experience operating as a regional or territory-based sales professional, managing your own patch and targets.
Responsibilities:
1. Drive new business revenue across your territory
2. Identify, research, and develop new sales opportunities
3. Build and manage a strong, high-quality new business pipeline
4. Prospect effectively through self-generated outbound activity
5. Present BSI Knowledge Solutions to senior decision-makers
6. Accurately forecast weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales
7. Follow up and execute targeted sales campaigns
8. Maintain accurate CRM records in Salesforce (SFDC)
9. Produce regular sales and forecasting reports
10. Consistently meet and exceed sales activity and revenue targets
To Be Successful in the Role, You Will Have:
11. Experience selling within a defined industry sector
12. Background as a regional or territory-based account manager or BDM
13. Proven success in new business / hunter-led sales
14. Experience selling into technical, regulated, or complex environments (e.g. medical devices)
15. Strong prospecting and pipeline management skills
16. A track record of closing self-generated opportunities
17. Confidence presenting and negotiating at management level
18. Excellent organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills
19. A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset
20. Strong customer relationship and communication skills
21. Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
22. Solid Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
23. Full UK driving licence and fluent English
24. Degree-level 3 education (or equivalent) preferred
