Step into a senior Head of Finance role and help ensure a charity can deliver its mission sustainably and effectively.

Reporting into the Finance Director, the Head of Finance will lead the finance function, translating financial strategy into clear, actionable delivery and supporting decision-making across the organisation. This is an opportunity to combine purpose-led work with real financial leadership, influence, and progression within the charity sector.

What you’ll gain:

1. Strategic exposure in a mission-driven organisation – work closely with the Finance Director, executive colleagues, and trustees to support decisions that directly enable charitable impact.
2. A clear pathway for development – operate as the Finance Director’s right-hand lead, gaining experience that supports progression into broader strategic finance leadership.
3. Meaningful leadership responsibility – manage and develop a committed finance team, building capability and resilience within the function.
4. Breadth across charity finance – gain hands-on exposure to funding, grants, restricted income, governance, and regulatory requirements.
5. Flexibility and values-led culture – benefit from hybrid working in London and an organisation that genuinely prioritises its people and purpose.

What you’ll do as the Head of Finance:

6. Lead the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and compliance with charity regulations.
7. Support the Finance Director with budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning.
8. Prepare high-quality management accounts and financial insights for senior leadership and trustees.
9. Oversee statutory accounts, audits, and regulatory submissions.
10. Work closely with non-finance colleagues to improve financial understanding and support effective use of charitable funds.
11. Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, embedding continuous improvement and best practice.

What you’ll need:

12. A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
13. Experience in a senior finance role within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
14. Strong technical grounding alongside a collaborative, approachable leadership style.
15. Confidence working with senior stakeholders and trustees.
16. A genuine commitment to working in a purpose-led environment.

Location & working pattern:

London-based role with a flexible hybrid working model (minimum two days per week in the office). Further flexibility can be considered for the right candidate.

Ready to take the next step as a Head of Finance and make a tangible difference?

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a Finance Director, lead a high-performing finance team, and shape the financial future of a mission-driven charity.
