SEN Support Teaching Assistant (Level 3)
Location: Bolton
Hours: Full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm
Start Date: 1st June 2026
We are seeking a committed and experienced Level 3 (or higher) SEN Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bolton. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and contributing positively to their educational development.
As an SEN Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. Your role will involve planning and delivering targeted interventions, adapting learning materials, and helping pupils engage confidently with the curriculum. You will play a vital part in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include providing one-to-one and small-group support, assisting with behaviour management, and promoting positive social and emotional development. You will also be involved in monitoring pupil progress, contributing to support plans, and maintaining clear communication with staff, parents, and external professionals. The role requires someone who is proactive, patient, and able to use their initiative to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
To be considered for this position, you must hold a Level 3 qualification (or above) related to supporting teaching and learning, alongside previous experience working within a school setting. A strong understanding of SEN strategies and a genuine passion for helping young people thrive are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
