ECOLOGIST
Ingrebourne Valley Ltd (IVL) are seeking to recruit an Ecologist to join their friendly and expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in IVL's ecological projects and land restoration work.
IVL is an accredited quarrying company that extracts and supplies primary building materials – predominantly sand and gravel – to the London and wider Southeast construction and concrete manufacturing markets. The company also specialises in land reclamation and restoration, transforming hundreds of hectares of poor-quality brownfield land into valuable new greenspace.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage ecological projects from start to finish.
* Conduct ecological surveys, including species and habitat surveys.
* Analyse ecological data and prepare high-quality reports.
* Design and implement habitat creation and enhancement proposals.
* Prepare Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and biodiversity metric calculations.
* Provide technical guidance to Site Managers and the Planning Team.
* Support sustainable land restoration projects across a diverse portfolio of sites.
What We're Looking For:
* A degree in ecology, environmental science, biology or a related subject.
* CIEEM membership (or working towards it).
* Approximately 2-3 years' professional experience.
* Experience conducting species and habitat surveys.
* Knowledge and practical experience in ecological mitigation, habitat creation or habitat restoration, including work on construction or quarrying sites.
* Understanding of ecological principles, legislation and best practice, including Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and biodiversity metric calculations (desirable).
* Excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
* Full UK driving licence and confidence travelling to sites across London and the Southeast.

The role is full time, Monday to Friday: 08:30am – 5:00pm (inclusive of lunch), and based at the IVL Head Office in Harlow, Essex.
