Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, patient-focused pharmacy technician to join our clinical pharmacy team at Raigmore Hospital. This post will be rotational and work across Medical and Surgery, Women & Children teams, including medical & surgical admissions and high dependency areas, renal, respiratory, gastroenterology, cardiology and paediatrics. The role offers diverse experience with opportunities to develop specialist knowledge and participate in quality and service improvement projects.
Supervision, training and support will be provided by the lead pharmacy technician and lead pharmacists within the areas. In addition to your clinical rotation you will maintain your accuracy checking practice by contributing to our dispensary rotation. The team is involved in education and training of the wider MDT, including medical students and medical/nursing staff. There are opportunities for pharmacy support workers and PTPTs to contribute within their skill set.
Responsibilities
* Rotate across Medical and Surgical wards, including medical & surgical admissions and high dependency areas, with rotations through renal, respiratory, gastroenterology, cardiology and paediatrics.
* Support training and development of pre-registration pharmacy technicians, pharmacy support staff, pharmacy students, and trainee pharmacists.
* Embed clinical pharmacy practice within the team and contribute to dispensary rotations to maintain accuracy checking.
* Participate in quality and service improvement projects and help implement HEPMA and robotics initiatives as part of the NHS Highland improvements.
* Collaborate with the MDT and contribute to education and training of medical students and medical/nursing staff.
Qualifications
* Pharmacist Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Relevant post-qualification knowledge and experience including an Accredited Dispensary Accuracy Checking Qualification.
Requirements
* Participate in departmental rotas for weekend working and public holidays to support pharmacy service provision across 7 days.
