Requirements
You should have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification, along with the Royal Environmental Health Institute Diploma or other professional body qualifications.
Responsibilities
You will work within either the Food and Health and Safety Team or the Environment/Public Health Team in the Regulatory Services section of City Development. Responsibilities include:
1. In the Food and Health and Safety Team: undertaking food law activities, occupational health and safety interventions, and responding to licensing applications.
2. In the Environment/Public Health Team: implementing, supporting, and enforcing Environmental Health legislation related to Public Health and Pollution Control, as well as responding to development management (Planning) and licensing applications.
The Individual
The ideal candidate will have broad experience in Environmental Health, with knowledge in food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, statutory nuisances, air quality, and public health. Essential skills include:
* Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
* Proficient computer and presentation skills
* Strong IT and analytical skills
* Good report writing abilities
* Conflict resolution skills
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
* Methodical and innovative problem-solving skills
