Court of Protection Solicitor/Legal Executive
NQ to 4 Years PQELocation: Taunton, Somerset (Hybrid Working)
This highly regarded regional law firm in Somerset is looking to appoint a Court of Protection Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone newly qualified or with up to four years’ post-qualification experience to take the next step in their legal career within a very supportive environment.
The Role:
As a key member of the Court of Protection department, you will:
* Manage your own varied Court of Protection caseload
* Advise and act as a Deputy under the Court of Protection, including Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare cases
* Prepare Statutory Will applications, advise on Trustee retirement, manage loan and mortgage arrangements and support with lifetime gifting
* Assist lay Deputies and ensure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
* Prepare and submit annual reports to the Court
* Work on increasingly complex matters as your experience develops
Requirements:
To be considered for this Court of Protection Lawyer role, you should:
* Be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEx)
* Have 0–4 years PQE
* Have experience in Private Client law or Court of Protection matters
* Be confident managing your own files and building client relationships
* Be interested in a long-term career within this niche and rewarding area of law
