Ward Manager — Full time — Cheadle — £47,494 - £53,448 per annum
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services for a Ward Manager to join the team within a private mental health hospital in Cheadle which offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults; Rehabilitation and recovery (R&R) 22 beds, male and female, 18+ - level 2 rehabilitation and BTPs, Acute 56 beds, male and female, 18+, PICU 30 beds, males and females, 18+, Adult ED 18 beds, male and female, 18+ and a CAMHS 10 beds, young male and females, 11-17 years.
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. They take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Ward Manager you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
* Manages the ward and resources effectively, taking steps to ensure that appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience and skills is in place including effective rota management, annual leave and training arrangements.
* Has full oversight of the nursing staff rota and is the authorised individual to ensure rota management and rostering standards are maintained and are effective.
* Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.
* Addresses shortfalls in development and ensures that training and performance issues are addressed.
What you\'ll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will be registered with the NMC as a first-level nurse or with the HCPC, with at least two years’ supervisory experience in a relevant care setting and appropriate ward-specific registration or experience. They should be a trained and current Assessor/Supervisor, computer literate, and have worked as a registered practitioner in relevant clinical settings. A commitment to ongoing professional development and leadership training is essential, along with experience in managing multiple priorities. Experience in clinical audits or evidence-based service improvements, and supervising nursing or care staff, is highly desirable.
