Orbis Education and Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our compassionate and energetic team at our Rosendale home. We want you to be part of our mission! As a Deputy Manager at Rosendale, you will play a crucial role in supporting daily activities, educational needs, and personal development, working closely with a team including teachers, therapists, and support workers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Located in Lydstep with views of the sea and Pembrokeshire hills, Rosendale offers a calm, supportive, and homely environment for up to six adults aged 18 and over. Adults at Rosendale have access to facilities at Orbis' Bangeston Hall in Pembroke Dock, including allotments, gardens, a polytunnel, smallholding, art and music rooms, and more. Care is tailored to each individual, supporting adults to be active and valued community members through meaningful activities, leisure, and learning programs.
A day in the life of a Deputy Manager with Orbis Education and Care involves:
* Supporting the Home Manager to achieve compliance with the regulatory framework, organizational objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Deputising in the manager’s absence and providing creative, innovative leadership to ensure the home delivers excellent, specialist services.
* Participating in the company’s “Out of hours” service.
* Supporting the transition of residents in and out of the home.
* Coordinating the home's recruitment process and leading interviews for new staff.
* Mentoring new staff and coordinating their induction.
* Supervising staff and reporting on compliance.
To be a successful Deputy Manager with Orbis Education and Care, you’ll need:
* A QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, with progress towards Level 4.
* At least 2 years’ experience working in a care or children’s home.
* At least 1 year’s experience in a team leader or senior role.
* A good understanding of the Positive Behaviour Support framework and the active support model, which underpin our care approach.
* Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, ASC, and challenging behaviours.
* Leadership experience supporting staff working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or ASC.
* Ability to work independently, meet targets, and supervise staff effectively.
* Awareness of sector developments, standards, and best practices.
Please note: This role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS check with barred list clearance.
