Job Summary
We are seeking a self-employed Taxi Driver to provide reliable and professional transportation services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to operate independently while ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and efficiently.
Duties
* Safely operate a private hire vehicle to transport passengers to various locations within the city and surrounding areas
* Maintain a clean and well-presented vehicle, ensuring it is in good working order at all times
* Plan efficient routes to optimise travel time and fuel consumption
* Communicate effectively with passengers, providing courteous service and assistance as needed
* Handle cash or electronic payments accurately and securely
* Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly
* Assist with loading or unloading luggage or heavy items when required
* Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety regulations, and licensing requirements at all times
Qualifications
* Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
* Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is advantageous
* Strong driving skills with knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns
* Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary for luggage or cargo
* Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with passengers
* Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to ensure safety and reliability of the vehicle
* Self-motivated with organisational skills to manage schedules effectively
* Prior experience in passenger transport or similar roles is desirable but not essential
