Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in the Radcliffe area of Bury to recruit an engaging Year 1 Teacher for a January/February half-term start. This role is perfect for a practitioner who enjoys supporting children as they transition from Early Years to the more structured Key Stage 1 curriculum.
The class is eager, enthusiastic and supported by an experienced teaching assistant. The school places strong focus on phonics, early writing, and fostering positive learning routines, making this a great fit for a teacher with strong foundational teaching skills.
Your role will involve:
Delivering engaging lessons that bridge EYFS and KS1 expectations
Teaching early phonics, reading, writing and maths confidently
Using assessment to inform planning and track progress
Creating a welcoming, calm, structured classroom environment
Maintaining strong communication with parents and colleagues
Participating in staff meetings, planning sessions, and CPD
We are looking for someone who:
Holds QTS and recent KS1 experience
Understands the importance of early literacy and numeracy foundations
Can adapt teaching to a range of needs and starting points
Has strong organisational and behaviour-management skills
