Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Community Personal Assistant to support individuals to live independently within their own homes and local community. This role involves providing person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals, enabling them to maintain independence, build confidence, and improve their overall wellbeing. The successful candidate will take a respectful and empowering approach, promoting choice, dignity, and inclusion at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support in line with individual care and support plans
* Assist with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, and household duties
* Support individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in meaningful activities
* Promote independence by encouraging individuals to develop and maintain life skills
* Offer emotional support and reassurance where needed
* Support with managing routines and maintaining structure
* Accurately record support provided and any relevant observations
* Work collaboratively with families and other professionals involved in the individual’s care
* Respond appropriately to changing needs, including periods of distress or anxiety
* Maintain professional boundaries at all times
Skills & Experience
* Experience supporting individuals with additional needs (e.g. autism, learning disabilities, mental health) is desirable
* A good understanding of person-centred care and support
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent
* Basic IT skills for record keeping
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

Additional Requirements
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
