Client Portfolio Manager (Field Based) - Accountancy Practice

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Client Portfolio Manager to join an excellent Accountancy Practice that is part of a large global professional services group - they are scaling rapidly, opening up strong career opportunities for the right individual.
This role is primarily field based and focused on maintaining strong relationships with SME clients and acting as their financial advisor. The successful candidate will spend much of their week visiting clients at their premises, helping them understand their accounts, financial position and performance.
This role is ideal for someone who has worked within an accountancy practice for several years and is confident speaking to business owners and explaining accounts, but who does not necessarily want to spend their time preparing accounts in the office.
Key Responsibilities
* Visiting clients regularly at their premises
* Acting as the main relationship contact for a portfolio of SME clients
* Explaining year end accounts and management accounts to client
* Helping business owners understand profitability and financial performance
* Liaising with the internal accounts team to ensure work is delivered accurately and on time
* Supporting clients with cloud accounting software, such as Xero
* Identifying opportunities where additional services may benefit the client
* Providing feedback from clients to the wider management team
Experience Required
* Experience working within an accountancy practice
* Qualified by experience or AAT level background
* Strong understanding of:
* Limited company accounts Sole trader accounts
* Partnerships VAT basics Management accounts
* Confident speaking with business owners and explaining financial information
* Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero would be beneficial
