Main duties of the job
Using evidence basedpractice to ensure the service continues to develop trauma informed service tosupport independence & recovery for individuals within their community.Supporting service users, their carers & the wider network.
Work within a multidisciplinary serviceof Consultants, Psychologist, Registered & Non-registered staff working toprovide outstanding specialist mental health assessment & evidenced basedintervention for people with severe & enduring mental health difficulties &complex emotional needs. Working together to provide high quality traumainformed care, to achieve the services key performance indicators, create apositive learning environment for all & maintain a culture of psychologicalsafety.
Main duties of the job
This is a varied role as Practice Lead,you have the opportunity to provide specialist clinical input, offeringsupervision and consultation to others. Representing the team at a variety ofclinical and operational service development meetings and forums, with theopportunity to participate in, and lead on aspects of service development. Experienceof service and project management, (or willingness to develop these skills), isdesirable.

Job responsibilities
Service Design and Improvement
To support the implementation ofService developments including the implementation and monitoring of theassigned care pathway quality and improvement plans. The post-holder, inconjunction with relevant others, will ensure that clinical effectivenesssystems are embedded and sustainable (based on audit and evidence-based care)
Fully participate in qualityassurance initiatives and advances.
Demonstrate the ability to engagewith different stakeholders including medical staffing in developing theservice
Service Delivery and Resource Management
Ensure that governance and assurancesystems are in place for care pathways/clinical teams
The post holder will provide expertprofessional advice about issues that may adversely affect clinical careincluding staffing and resource issues.
The post holder will offer adviceregarding team performance in relation to incidents and complaints
Ensure that services are deliveredby practitioners with the appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies,identifying training needs and providing opportunities for development.
In conjunction with the SeniorClinical Lead & Operational Manager, ensure that care is provided withinthe service resource.
As an operational managerthe post holder will be required to participate in the operational managerson-call rota if requested to do so by the Chief Operating Officer.
Practice Quality and Workforce Development
Take the lead, in consultation withthe Senior Clinical Lead & Operational Manager, in being responsible for thecoordination of multi-disciplinary team working and engagement in servicedelivery in line with practice standards
Ensuring the safety andeffectiveness of the service through the implementation of effective riskmanagement, governance and assurance systems
Support the Senior Clinical Lead& Operational Management Team in the development of the workforce.
Thepost-holder will act as a role model in providing a service for people withmental health problems for all staff within the Community Mental Health Serviceand other stakeholders.
Thepost-holder will help monitor and improve quality through the following:
- Team compliance to national guidelinesincluding NICE guidelines through audit and other means
- Developing care pathways which improveclinical care
Line Management/Clinical SupervisionResponsibility
Thepost-holder will work with the Team Manager to deliver effective practice andline management supervision to the team
Thepost-holder will ensure that the team access Continuous ProfessionalDevelopment
Thepost-holder will provide appropriate cross-cover as required for other Band 7Practice Leads within the service and for the Senior Clinical Lead &Operational Manager
Additional Responsibilities
Allpractice leads will hold a portfolio of responsibilities these will include butwill not be limited to: responsibility for ensuring team adherence toorganisational requirements and standards, representing the CMHS atorganisational and multi-agency meetings and forums.
Theywill also take responsibility for key practice development projects across thelocal liaison services as assigned by the Senior Clinical Lead &Operational Manager, or Operational Management team.
Practice Leads will hold a service portfolio basedon individual job planning e.g. safeguarding, complaints.

ThePractice Leads along with the Senior Clinical Lead & Operational Managerwill provide high quality mental health services to eligible patients through amulti-disciplinary team of registered professionals and medical staffing inconjunction with the VCSE. Knowledge
* Extensive professional knowledge acquired through clinical practice in a Community Mental Health setting, underpinned by training at degree level/diploma level specialist training or equivalent experience
