Role Overview
Duty Manager for the Subway at SPAR located in Yaxley store. You will support the Store Manager in all operational hours and help lead and motivate the store team, ensuring excellent customer service and contributing to store sales and profitability.
Compensation & Hours
Up to £13.25 p/h (depending on age). Shifts: 07:30‑15:30 or 12:30‑20:30.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities
* Prepare sandwich ingredients, cook breakfast and lunch items, bake cookies and bread, and wash, cut, slice, chop and grate ingredients according to established guidelines.
* Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high‑performing store and take overall responsibility for the Subway brand and regulations in‑store.
* Assist the SPAR Store Manager to deliver all store operations, objectives and KPIs.
* Manage, coach and support colleagues, developing a motivated and empowered team through a positive, engaging management style.
* Carry out performance management/absence management as appropriate.
* Open and close the department, ensure colleague safety and stock/cash security/accountability during shifts.
* Carry out cash reconciliations, voids and refunds and other management tasks for till colleagues.
* Be a role model and lead the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
* Promote the store by identifying and acting on opportunities to engage with and support the local community.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures and processes.
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge / Experience
* Previous experience working for Subway preferred.
* Previous management or supervisory experience within a food retail or similar fast‑paced operation.
* Commit to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards in the Yaxley SPAR store.
* Ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
* Ability to take appropriate action and make decisions.
