Overview
Permitting Support Advisor - Fish Movements. The Fish Movements Permitting Team (part of Integrated Permitting Services) is looking for an enthusiastic individual to manage incoming permit applications, provide administrative support for the team, area operational teams and external customers throughout the permitting process. This is an entry level role within the Environment Agency and offers opportunities to develop into other roles and career paths within the Agency.
Responsibilities
* Act as an initial point of contact for customers who need information and advice
* Review applications to assess completeness and obtain further information from customers if required
* Manage own workload of ongoing permitting queries
* Update databases and records
* Complete data entry
* Collaborate with team members to deliver team and individual targets
What you’ll do
You will support delivery of frontline fisheries permitting services administratively and contribute to the regulation and protection of fisheries across England. You’ll work with internal and external customers involved in the fish movement trade or commercial fisheries and provide excellent technical advice and customer service to fulfil regulatory obligations and environmental outcomes.
Requirements / Skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow processes and use different digital tools
* Strong customer focus and confidence engaging with diverse customer groups
* Administrative experience is advantageous; essential to demonstrate the following:
* Able to work with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, email)
* Ability to work independently and manage own workload
* Meet team and personal performance targets
* Communicate clearly with customers to progress work
* Identify and escalate issues as needed
* Ensure data and information is handled accurately
* Share learning with team members
Working arrangements
Role is based at the Brampton office (attending on a weekly basis) with some external travel for meetings, in a hybrid pattern between office and home. Flexible working is supported.

The Fish Movements Team provides fisheries permitting determination services to internal and external customers across a wide range of fisheries disciplines, including the sea trout net fishery. We maintain a strong customer focus and deliver high-quality advice and services to meet regulatory obligations and environmental outcomes.
