This senior-level opportunity combines expert legal practice with leadership and strategic influence. The Role You will serve as a lead legal advisor across a significant portfolio of high-value and complex contractual and property-related matters. With support from the Head of Law, you will provide line management, guidance, and development to a team of lawyers, paralegals, and assistants. Your role will involve advising senior officers, attending court or tribunals as required, and ensuring legal risks are managed effectively. Key Responsibilities Provide expert legal advice on complex matters relating to contracts and conveyancing. Manage and develop a small legal team, overseeing performance and fostering professional growth. Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to support strategic initiatives. Maintain high standards of professional practice and compliance. Support organisational improvement through training, legal briefings, and process development. About You Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a current practising certificate. Proven expertise in contracts and conveyancing law, ideally within a public sector or complex organisational setting. Demonstrated experience in legal team leadership or supervision. Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities under pressure.
