Our client are a fast-growing logistics business specialising in general haulage, contract distribution, and warehousing solutions across the UK. With a reputation built on reliability, flexibility, and customer focus, they deliver tailored logistics services to clients. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a dynamic Commercial Manager. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Commercial Manager will take ownership of all commercial activity across the business - from client development and contract negotiation to pricing strategy and margin management. You'll play a key role in shaping the company's growth trajectory, ensuring profitable contracts, long-term partnerships, and operational excellence across our haulage and warehousing network.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all commercial and business development activity across general haulage and warehousing operations.

Develop and execute sales strategies to attract and retain profitable clients.

Negotiate and manage key customer contracts, ensuring commercial terms maximise margin and service performance.

Work closely with the operations team to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations and contractual KPIs.

Analyse revenue and cost performance to identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.

Lead tender submissions and oversee pricing models for new business and renewals.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and strategic partners.

Support the leadership team with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting.

Contribute to the company's long-term strategy, brand development, and market positioning.

Experience:

Proven experience in a commercial, business development, or account management role within general haulage or 3PL logistics.

Strong negotiation, pricing, and contract management skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across all levels.

Analytical mindset with a focus on margin improvement and performance data.

Confident influencing senior stakeholders and leading commercial discussions.
