Overview
An exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Optometrist to join our Hospital Optometry team on a full-time, permanent basis at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The role is ideal for those seeking to expand clinical skills within a hospital setting. The post is open to both newly qualified and experienced Optometrists and will initially cover core roles such as refraction, contact lens clinics, and medical retina virtual reviewing clinics. There will be opportunities to develop into other roles with training, experience and service need.
Responsibilities
* Provide core and sub-specialist optometric services to patients in a hospital setting.
* Examine patients within the Medical Retina, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Contact Lens, Diabetic Eye Screening, Cataract, Corneal, Eye Casualty, Low Vision Aid, Prosthetic, Adult Refraction or Glaucoma Service.
* Work independently while collaborating with the Optometry, Ophthalmology and external agencies to deliver comprehensive care.
* Participate in the delivery of a wide range of services and respond to changing needs of the department.
Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Open to both newly qualified and experienced Optometrists. Applicants must hold or be eligible for registration with the General Optical Council and be able to demonstrate competency in basic optometric procedures.
