Production Engineer
Cross Hills, BD20
39 hours/week, Mon:Fri, with a flexitime system and early finish on Fridays
Salary: A GBP 35,000:A GBP 38,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits
Were expanding our Production Support Team with the appointment of a Production Engineer, reporting to the Head of Manufacturing.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create CNC programs using Hypermill CAD/CAM and assist with CNC machine programming
* Liaise with tooling suppliers and machinists to ensure optimal tooling is in use
* Design and develop jigs and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency
* Review and optimise component routings for productivity
* Analyse and improve production processes to reduce waste and increase output
* Deliver training for machine setup and operation and support apprentices
* Source and assess capable subcontractors from a machining and quality standpoint
* Support layout planning, maintenance schedules, and risk assessments
* Liaise with subcontractors and assist in supplier development and expediting
* Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean projects
* Provide cover on critical machines during absences
* Travel off:site to suppliers and subcontractors when required
* Collaborate with other departments to streamline process interfaces
