Technical Account Manager (f/m/d) at Contentful — join to apply for the role. The opportunity focuses on empowering customers by providing a personalized technical advocacy experience as an experienced solution advisor. The role is suitable for customers who require a proactive approach and greater oversight in realizing their content platform journey. You can work from our Berlin office or remotely from Germany, Netherlands, UK, and Ireland.
Responsibilities
Lead from the front by promoting technological advancements understanding the impact on business strategies and transforming this into client growth
Partner with internal teams (Customer Experience, Product Management, Research and Engineering) to build strategies that deliver customer value
Bring a structured, customer-centric approach and apply TAM best practices to Contentful with an iterative process
Make recommendations on how to leverage design knowledge within internal teams and with the customer base
Be responsible for multiple work streams and strategically leverage resources to achieve goals
Build, maintain and foster key client relationships and ensure alignment of goals and ambitions
Communicate openly about risks, opportunities, and potential portfolio enhancements to customers and internal stakeholders
Develop a customer-focused Technical Account Management methodology that evolves through feedback
Lead at least 2 initiatives in adoption and growth (e.g., adoption mapping, OKRs, maturity models, playbooks, training)
Mentor and guide teammates to be effective customer advocates, partnering with Support Engineers to expand their toolbox
Participate in technical challenges during interviews to demonstrate experience with JavaScript and frontend concepts
What You Need To Be Successful
Great rapport-building skills; empathetic listening are key
Extensive knowledge of JavaScript with experience using React and frameworks like Next.js; knowledge of static site generators (e.g., Gatsby); experience with REST APIs, CMSs, CDNs, caching, and related tools is advantageous
Ability to wireframe websites to provide insightful ideas for customers using Contentful
Ability to simplify complex problems and collaborate on solutions
Proven track record of developing relationships with internal teams and external clients
Experience in cross-functional SaaS teams and collaborative success
Confident in speaking to C-level executives and influencing key stakeholders
Experience working with Success, Sales and other departments
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into consumable frameworks
Demonstrated ability to meet goals, deadlines and milestones
Experience in a similar technical consulting, Solution Engineer, Solution Architect or Implementation Manager role at a SaaS company
Excellent communication and presentation skills for a technical audience
