Overview
Director of Cyber Security – Pulseant, a leading UK digital infrastructure provider. The role reports to the CTO and leads Pulsant’s cyber security strategy, protecting our business, our clients and our 14 data centre locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, execution and continuous improvement of Pulsant’s cyber security strategy.
* Head a small in‑house cyber security team, working closely with third‑party providers to deliver strategic priorities.
* Engage with senior leaders and specialists to ensure products and services are designed and run in line with cyber security best practice.
* Partner with Risk & Assurance and Corporate IT to drive information security and cyber risk assessments, owning the action plan to minimise threats.
* Horizon scanning and thought leadership on emerging cyber security technologies, risks and industry best practice.
* Lead and oversee security relationships with key suppliers and partners.
* Establish and enforce standard methods and approaches to ensure all infrastructure, systems and services comply with current security standards and protocols.
* Support compliance to partner and external security accreditations such as CE+ and ISO27001.
* Educate and evangelise security measures across all business areas, delivering insights to all stakeholders.
* Mentor, coach and manage the team, including performance reviews and reporting of targets.
* Collaborate with product and pre‑sales teams to define Pulsant’s security position for new clients and complex bids, and present to customers as required.
* Engage with shareholders, insurers and external stakeholders on Pulsant’s information and cyber security policy roadmap.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience leading, developing and motivating cyber security teams.
* Strong track record engaging senior internal and external stakeholders, including board‑level and insurance partners.
* Expertise in defining and implementing enterprise‑wide cyber security strategies.
* Recognised leader in commercial environments with a confident, strategic presence.
* Skilled at driving cultural change, influencing stakeholders and providing thought leadership.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging threats, risks and best practices in cyber and information security.
* Experience in budget ownership, cost control and delivering measurable improvements and KPIs.
* Deep knowledge of security frameworks and standards (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ISO 27032, PCI‑DSS, PAS 555, Cyber Essentials).
* Excellent relationship management, communication and commercial acumen; logical, resilient, solutions‑focused.
* Degree in Technical/Information Security (or equivalent) and at least two relevant certifications (CEH, CISSP, CISM, etc.).
