Job Title: Product EngineerLocation: Sheffield (Hybrid)Salary: Up to £50k (DOE) We’re looking for an innovative Product Engineer to join a rapidly growing technology business. The position will support the scale-up of an existing product while contributing to the development of a new product line. It is a pivotal role within the product lifecycle, offering involvement from early concept through to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, commercial, and operations to ensure successful product development and delivery. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.About the Role
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities related to manufacturability, including yield optimisation, cost of goods reduction, test coverage, limit setting, guard banding, and test release
* Contribute to decisions around development or sourcing of key technologies such as assembly, testing, and burn-in solutions
* Review and contribute to product reliability test plans
* Work closely with production test engineering teams to implement product and test solutions at external manufacturing partners
* Monitor and track product performance against specifications throughout the full lifecycle
* Support production ramp-up and maintain yield performance across the product lifetime
* Analyse yield issues, working with subcontractors and internal teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions
* Manage non-conforming materials and support disposition decisions
* Contribute to failure analysis and resolution of field returns
* Act as a technical point of contact for external assembly and test partners
* Carry out product characterisation and testing within a laboratory environment
* Perform detailed data analysis and reporting
About you
* Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a product engineering role
* Proven experience supporting products through the full NPI lifecycle, from definition to production release
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
* Experience working with external manufacturing partners or subcontractors
