Job Role: Workshop Plant Engineer
Location: Birmingham, B24
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 base salary, (OTE £40,000 - £50,000)
Hours: Monday-Friday, Company Vehicle/Fuel Card, Overtime @ 1.5x

The Client
Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established national plant hire firm to support their growth. Our client has been established for over 50 years and is looking to onboard and train engineers from plant, HGV, automotive or agricultural backgrounds. A comprehensive training scheme and internal progression routes are offered.
The Package
* 22 days Annual Leave + Public Holidays (increasing by 1 day for each year of service, up to 25 days)
* Overtime over 8 hours per day paid at 1.5x (£21-£24 per hour)
* Salary Sacrifice Scheme for an additional 5 days annual leave per annum
* Full training & development with a focus on internal progression: Workshop/Mobile Engineer → Lead Engineer → Hiring Manager → Site Manager → Regional Manager
* Promotions include substantial increases in salary and benefits
The Requirements
* Previous experience in the Plant, Automotive, HGV or Agricultural industry (essential)
* Experience with hydraulics, plus mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
* Experience on engines is advantageous
* Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience
* A desire to lead, manage and grow a team
* Relevant qualifications (NVQ or City and Guilds) in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
* Full UK Driving License
The Responsibilities
* Travel to client sites to perform maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment
* Diagnose complex technical issues and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
* Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert recommendations
* Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
* Offer training and support to clients' staff on machinery operation and maintenance best practices
* Keep detailed records of service activities, parts used, and work completed for accurate reporting
* Communicate effectively with the in-house engineering team to provide feedback and improve product performance
