A leading project management consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its growing team in the East Midlands.
This role involves overseeing a range of civil engineering and building projects, supporting clients throughout all project stages, and ensuring high quality delivery.
You will manage your own workload, maintain strong client relationships, and report regularly to senior leadership. The role requires travel to client offices, consultant offices and construction sites as part of project duties.
Key responsibilities include
• Delivering both pre and post contract project management services
• Leading project meetings and providing clear technical and commercial advice
• Producing programmes, risk registers and project reports for client presentations
• Managing multi disciplinary design teams
• Supporting procurement activities and contract documentation
• Overseeing contract administration, site visits, progress reporting, snagging and defect management
• Ensuring deadlines are met and quality of service is consistently high
• Identifying and supporting future business opportunities with existing clients
Essential experience
• Proven track record managing high value projects ranging from £100k to £5m
• Strong understanding of NEC, ICC and JCT construction contracts
• Knowledge of procurement routes for construction projects
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants and colleagues
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• High level of computer literacy
• Ability to work proactively and independently while delivering high quality outcomes
• Appreciation of appointment documents and the scope of services required
Desirable experience
• NEC4 accreditation or strong experience with the NEC contract suite
• Understanding of how professional fees are structured
• RICS accredited or working toward a relevant professional qualification
• Experience delivering excellent client service
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills
• Experience working with public sector clients
