We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join a growing project team delivering major water infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in planning and programme management across a portfolio of civil and M&E schemes.
The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes to ensure successful delivery against time and cost targets. Working closely with project and commercial teams, you will provide clear visibility on progress, risks, and performance across multiple projects.
You will also take ownership of key project programmes, drive delivery against plan, and support the development of junior planners within the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop tender and contract programmes that are realistic, compliant, and deliverable
* Create, update, and maintain Primavera P6 project schedules in line with contract requirements
* Monitor progress against baseline programmes and report on performance
* Lead planning workshops and support collaborative programme development
* Identify risks, opportunities, and programme constraints, proposing mitigation strategies
* Analyse programme changes and assess impact on delivery timelines
* Produce regular lookahead programmes and progress reports
* Attend site and project meetings to gather progress data and present programme updates
* Work closely with commercial teams to align programme and cost performance
* Ensure accurate as-built programmes are developed at project completion
* Mentor and support junior planners, sharing best practice and driving team performance
About You
* Proven experience in planning civil engineering and M&E projects
* Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts
* Advanced user of Primavera P6
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong understanding of programme risk, change, and performance analysis
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
* Experience within the water or utilities sector
* Familiarity with contract management systems (e.g. CEMAR)
