We're Hiring – Refrigeration Engineer (Marine)
Location:
Kent (with travel and overnight stays when needed)
Salary:
Up to £55,000, depending on experience
Ernest West & Beynon are experts in marine refrigeration. We design, install, and commission cold rooms, cool rooms, and chilled water plants on Ministry of Defence ships.
Because our business is growing, we're looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to take the lead on installation and commissioning projects.
The Role
This is a hands-on job where you'll lead installation and commissioning work on MoD vessels.
You'll be based in Kent and the South East, also supporting our team with service, maintenance, and installation projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead installation and commissioning of cold rooms, cool rooms, and chilled water plants on MOD ships
* Carry out pipework, brazing, and electrical work to a high standard
* Support service, maintenance, and installation projects in Kent and the South East
* Keep accurate records and project documents
* Work closely with colleagues, contractors, and clients to deliver quality results
What You'll Need
* GNVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
* Strong skills in pipework and brazing
* Electrical qualification (preferred but not essential)
* Good knowledge of refrigeration systems and controls
* Full UK driving licence
* Willingness to work away when projects require
