Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
Are you a positive and motivated person who loves going the extra mile to improve the lives of others?
Is it important for you to have a satisfying job where you feel supported?
If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for!
In our Buckie services, we are recruiting for Female Support Workers to support 5 individuals who live in their own homes to live as independently as possible. The people we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities, autism and mental health but this hasn’t stopped them from enjoying life!
They enjoy a wide range of different activities, like socialising, baking, watching football, spending time with their families, and cycling. However, they’re always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.
Our staff team are very supportive and experienced and provide support with:
•Medication administration
•Cooking
•Helping the people we support achieve their goals
•Maintaining the homes of the people we support and managing their finances
Our team provide support 24 hours a day, so we ask for some flexibility to work a variety of shifts between 7.30am and 10pm. Shift lengths can vary from 1 - 8 hours. We also have waking night shifts and sleepovers and some overnight support is required by all staff. We are currently recruiting for a part time position of 20 hours roles andhave a strong preference for staff to hold a UK driving license but would consider experienced staff without this. Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act
Your values:
The people we support like to be supported by people who respect them and their homes, but who also like to have fun!
We like people who are reliable and honest and are able to remain calm under pressure, so they can support people effectively and build fantastic relationships.
