Under moderate supervision, provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities. Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations (e.g. media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, witness senior staff experiments). Maintain lab inventory and labeling (e.g. chemical reagents, glassware, gas cylinder levels). Verify and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, glass washing). Conduct scientific deliveries and provide technical operational support with scientific equipment. This is a full‑time, permanent position based at a client location in Cambridge. Monday to Friday core hours are required.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Conduct general deliveries from the basement sorting hub to laboratories.
* Provide customer service to end users.
* Receive restricted goods, complete chain of custody records, and arrange for digital and physical archiving (specifically for HBS/RMS/GCB, radiation and controlled materials).
* Liquid nitrogen fills into scientific equipment.
* Fixed critical daily delivery runs.
* Cryogenic deliveries.
* Utilise dedicated tracker software for the movement of samples.
* Collect internal samples from the lab for processing and external movement.
* Record internal auditing for the collection and outward movement of sequencing samples.
* Internal distribution of samples.
* Inter‑laboratory movements.
* Receipt of goods onto tracking software to monitor internal movement.
* Data analysis and recording of consumption trends of scientific machinery and activity.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in logistics, material handling, or warehouse‑based roles.
* Knowledge of shipping, inventory and purchasing processes.
* Preferable experience handling dangerous goods and cryogenic materials.
* Preferable ADR familiarity.
* Preferable experience working with scientific research organisations.
* Familiarity with working toward deadlines.
* Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
* High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures.
