Overview

EQUANS are looking for a Technical Supervisor on the Rotherham Schools contract. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri 9am–5pm). A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Supervisor will ensure adherence to statutory and contractual compliance across 14 schools in the Rotherham Schools PFI Estate. Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing business requirements and establish good working relationships with the team and client. Develop effective customer relationships as the interface and first point of escalation for technical service delivery. Ensure compliance is accurately documented and consistently applied across all schools within the Rotherham estate. The role requires the ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems, and bring them to resolution.

Complexity: The Technical Supervisor is responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the contracts, working with and reporting to the Technical Services Manager. They provide guidance on site, demonstrating technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to ensure compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. Manage a team of engineers to ensure in-house delivery of technical services is efficient, timely and of a high standard. Ensure customer-focused service delivery, contractual and procedural compliance across the PFI contract. Maintain a high level of mechanical/electrical and other technical disciplines in a Hard FM environment. Support asset management, lifecycle planning, and delivery. Undertake RP/AP roles as required by the contract. Offer technical support as required to the business. Ensure statutory and contractual obligations are accurately documented in line with current legislation. Manage PPM to meet contractual and statutory timescales. Monitor facility performance through the PPM programme and identify any additional works indicated in PPM reports. Organise Statutory Inspections to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations. Complete Health and Safety audits with follow-up action and reporting. Manage staff including induction and performance actions. Manage subcontractors including regular meetings. Ensure records are maintained, up to date, and accessible on SharePoint. Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements and develop relationships with business partners, suppliers, and subcontractors. Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. Knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems. Administer and complete relevant paperwork. Read and interpret technical diagrams, measure, and communicate technical information to trades. Ensure projects are planned and delivered to customer specifications. Plan and implement changes to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

* Experience in a technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, Gas, Water, etc.).
* Working knowledge of other services such as support services, admin, finance.
* Experience in people management, sickness, performance, risk management and compliance.
* Desirable: previous experience with CAD.
* Experience of managing sub-contractors and maintaining standards.
* Responding to bespoke client/operational requests for information.
* Good working knowledge of standard IT packages.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Well-organised and efficient; able to work on own initiative.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Experience in data analysis and reporting.
* Have a minimum of IOSH Working Safely certification.
* Understanding statutory compliance and reporting.
* Experience of Asset Management and CAFM systems.
* Experience of life-cycle management and requirements.
* Experience working with budgets and delivering cost-effective solutions.
