Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job; it's about being part of something meaningful. It's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.

We currently have the following opportunity:

Primary School Support Worker (Fixed Term until 16 August 2026) - PKC12627

Salary: £19,401 - £20,446 (32.5 Hours per week, Term-time only)

Location: Dunbarney Primary School, Bridge of Earn

At Dunbarney Primary, we are proud of our caring, inclusive school community where every child is supported to 'Be their Best Self'. We’re now looking for a dedicated, dynamic, and organised School Administrator / Receptionist (Primary School Support Worker) to join our friendly team and community.

We are committed to equality, diversity, and equal opportunity, treating everyone with kindness, fairness, and respect.

This is a key role in our school. As Primary School Support Worker in the school office, you will support the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, staff, parents, and pupils by ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our busy school office.

Working 32.5 hours during term time, your duties will include welcoming visitors, scheduling meetings, processing financial records, and updating pupil data. The role is broad and demanding.

Responsibilities include managing SEEMiS and ScotXed returns, supporting financial procedures via systems like Integra and PECOS, sourcing supply staff, and more. The role requires accuracy, discretion, and a professional approach.

You will handle sensitive information confidentially, contribute to budget tasks, and be the first point of contact for visitors and parents.

The role demands a diverse skill set, including strategic planning, effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership.

Responsibilities and Skills & Experience Required

We seek someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and organisation to our school community.

You should have a pleasant, approachable manner, experience in a school or similar environment, and good knowledge of office systems and financial procedures.

Confidence with IT systems, especially SEEMiS and financial software, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Above all, share our values—kindness, fairness, respect—and demonstrate honesty and ambition.

We want someone dedicated to our school, reliable, and supportive.

Main Responsibilities

Perform routine clerical duties independently, such as filing, photocopying, and scheduling.

You will:

* Respond promptly and courteously to visitors.
* Maintain confidentiality, exercising tact and discretion.
* Process information accurately, updating files and data.
* Handle financial tasks, including invoice processing and budget reconciliation using systems like Integra.
* Use SEEMiS to update pupil and staff information.
* Contribute to ScotXed Census Returns and class setup using Primary Planning Wizard.
* Source supply staff via the Supply Booking system.

Skills and Experience

* A warm, welcoming manner, as the first point of contact.
* Care for making a difference in children's lives.
* Experience working with the public and independently.
* Excellent IT skills and office procedures knowledge.
* Ability to think quickly and focus on solutions.
* Knowledge of financial record-keeping.
* Experience in a school setting is advantageous.
* First Aid training is a plus, or willingness to obtain it.

If this describes you, we look forward to your application and interview.

* 6 public holidays plus an additional discretionary day.

We support flexible working where possible. Discuss options with the recruiting manager.

We offer training and professional development opportunities.
