Production Manager [Desired start date] July 2025 Summary of job content Responsibility for all Production areas including Personnel, Production Plant and Process as well as budget responsibility the Production cost centres. Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Develop a site strategy aligned with the corporate targets. Build a go-look-see leadership culture with an empowered workforce and strong training and development plan. Strive for continuous improvement to optimise the processes, safety, quality and productivity of the plant driven by a robust KPI structure. Role Purpose To manage the area of responsibility in a safe manner compliant with all Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and Quality requirements To manage the functional areas of responsibility in order to deliver a fully optimised, efficient and effective production process that meets or exceeds the sites top targets/KPI’s. To create a world class manufacturing and safety culture applying the methodology and principals of the Company (SEUK-CL)’s continuous improvement programme (The Kaizen Approach) due to be profitable operation Ownership for training & development of the Production team to achieve and maintain a world class manufacturing status. Manage the implementation of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality processes and procedures and good industrial practice to achieve compliance with SEUK-CL objectives and statutory requirements supported by SEI/JPN Continue to build an Operational excellence culture. Build the engagement of the entire organization to foster a motivated, empowered and results oriented team. Ensure staff are recruited, trained, developed and motivated to achieve long term site development operational plans and objectives. Building the 5y site development plan (policy deployment) and roadmap (aligned with the Corporate strategy) to realise long term site goals and objectives. Maintain and develop relationships within the global SEI framework to ensure the organisation operates at the highest level. Continue to develop the site infrastructure, equipment and product portfolio to meet site development plans within cost, time and quality parameters. Optimise machine utilisation, manpower, management of shift resources and communications to produce an excellent quality product that meets the production plan. Manage and control all costs for each production unit. Set, agree and achieve annual budget cost for specific unit line (s) processes to OMP and report variances monthly. Ensure efficient management of the labour rota, absence/sickness management, and minimise overtime working to achieve increased productivity. Ensure that Production training processes are effectively managed, reviewed and controlled to ensure maximum operational efficiency and to comply with Health, Safety and Quality requirements. Manage maintenance resources as required optimising operational effectiveness of all plant, equipment, facilities and control systems. Take the lead role in all engineering activities within the scope of responsibility. Agree work schedules for downtime and Planned Maintenance. Prederred Knowledge / Skills/ Experiences Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering or chemical process environment essential. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or Manufacturing or equivalent an advantage. High level of awareness of and commitment to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality. Leadership, drive and commitment and the ability to gain commitment and support from others. Ability to reach and implement appropriate decisions in a range of situations. Ability and desire to interact with internal and external customers, and with other departments on projects and programs. Attention to detail with a strong close out seeking sustainable solutions.
