Job Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a newly developed Band 7 Clinical lead post within our forensic Occupational Therapy inpatient team. The Shaftesbury Clinic holds 52 beds within 4 wards including a male MSU a male LSU, a women's MSU and the newly developed unit for those with intellectual disabilities and autism. This Band 7 role has been created to form part of the forensic OT leadership team, providing clinical guidance and support to a team of Occupational therapists, technical instructors, clinical exercise therapists and activity support workers. We are fortunate to have a sizeable OT team of 17 staff, allowing a broad service offering to our patient group.

Main duties of the job
The team offer individual and group interventions to support physical and mental health as part of our patient's recovery journeys. The learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental part of the OT team are led by a clinical sensory specialist OT, and we are aiming to create parity through developing a leadership role within the mental health side of our service. Both pathways are closely supported by the Deputy Head of therapies for the forensic service line. The postholder will hold a clinical caseload as well as supporting the team in the development of clinical pathways and evidence-based group interventions.

Training and Qualifications
* Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
* Registration to practice in the UK
* Evidence of post registration training relevant to mental health practice
* Training in the theory and application of the model of human occupation within the first 4 months of appointment
Desirable

* Leadership and/or management training
