Freelance Geotechnical Engineer - Bulk Earthworks (HS2)
Location: HS2 Major Infrastructure Project - Great Missenden
Duration: 12 months
Engagement: Freelance, Outside IR35 / CIS
What you'll do
* Monitor earthworks compliance with the Specification
* Identify dissolution features and advise on investigations
* Undertake daily inspections of formations, embankments, and cuttings
* Analyse geotechnical data to support design and quality reporting
* Advise site teams on mitigation and ground improvement measures
What we're looking for
* Degree in geotechnical / geological engineering or similar
* Minimum 2 years site experience in earthworks (exceptional graduates considered)
* Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and behaviour of various soil types
* Experience with Tier 1 infrastructure or major earthworks projects
* Confident in site inspections, reporting, and stakeholder liaison
