* Significant senior HR / People leadership experience, ideally in infrastructure, telecoms, utilities or similarly regulated, capital‑intensive environments
* Proven experience supporting fast‑growing, investor‑backed or private‑equity‑backed organisations
* Strong understanding of UK employment law, governance and best‑practice people frameworks
* Experience partnering at executive and board level with credibility and impact
* Demonstrated ability to balance pace, pragmatism and rigour in a scale‑up context

What the job involves
* We are looking for a HR Director to join us at nexfibre, based in Paddington, London
* The HR Director will lead the development and execution of nexfibre’s people strategy, ensuring the organisation has the capability, culture, leadership and governance required to scale a national wholesale fibre infrastructure business
* This is a senior leadership role, responsible for building a high‑performing, values‑led organisation while balancing pace, discipline and compliance in a highly regulated, investor‑backed environment. The role will be critical in supporting nexfibre’s continued growth, integration activity, and long‑term sustainability as a national‑scale platform
* This role offers the opportunity to shape the people foundations of a business that is still being built - with genuine influence, complexity and scale
* Develop and deliver a people strategy aligned to nexfibre’s business plan, growth trajectory and shareholder expectations
* Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Executive Committee on organisational design, leadership effectiveness, succession and talent risks
* Build on a strong, inclusive culture that supports accountability, collaboration and performance at scale
* Lead organisation design as the business scales, ensuring clarity of roles, decision rights and governance
* Support leadership team development as nexfibre transitions from build‑out to operational maturity
* Drive workforce planning across critical capability areas including engineering, operations, commercial, corporate functions
* Own senior hiring and succession planning for executive and leadership roles
* Design and oversee performance management, reward and incentive frameworks aligned with investor‑backed infrastructure best practice
* Ensure consistent, fair and commercially aligned approaches to compensation, grading and progression
* Provide expert leadership on employee relations, ensuring issues are managed fairly, pragmatically and in line with UK employment law
* Oversee people policies, governance and compliance in line with regulatory and shareholder expectations
* Act as escalation point for complex or sensitive people matters
* Lead people aspects of change programmes, including growth, integration and transformation activity
* Support effective communication and engagement during periods of change, maintaining trust and organisational momentum
* Partner closely with Finance, Legal and Operations to ensure people decisions are commercially sound and risk‑aware
* Ensure scalable, efficient people processes, systems and data to support a growing organisation
* Use insight and analytics to inform decision‑making and continuous improvement
