An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Audiology clinician to join NELFT NHS Foundation Trust as Clinical Lead for Paediatric Audiology within our Integrated Children’s Services in Havering.
This is a senior clinical leadership role for an individual who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, family‑centred audiology services for children and young people aged 0‑19 years. You will work within a supportive, forward‑thinking, multi‑disciplinary environment and play a key role in shaping the future of paediatric audiology services across North East London.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly skilled, qualified Audiology clinician with strong leadership and management experience.
As Clinical Lead, you will:
* Provide professional and operational leadership for the Paediatric Audiology Service
* Lead and support an established team of audiologists, assistants and administrative staff
* Maintain clinical credibility through highly specialist clinical practice where appropriate
* Drive service development and modernisation of care pathways in line with national standards and local priorities
* Work closely with senior leaders, commissioners and multi‑agency partners to deliver safe, effective and accessible services
You will have the opportunity to influence service direction at both Trust and regional level, while ensuring children, young people and their families remain at the heart of everything we do.

This post also attracts payment for High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary. (minimum payment of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 - Per annum, pro rata for part time.)

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Degree in Audiology or equivalent (e.g. MSc Audiological Science, BTech MPPM with BAAT Parts 1 & 2, or equivalent recognised qualification)
* Registration with RCCP or HCPC as a Clinical Scientist/Audiologist
* Evidence of advanced/ specialist training in paediatric audiology and rehabilitation (e.g. MSc modules, advanced clinical courses)
Desirable
* BSL qualification / Deaf Awareness training
Experience Essential
* Experience of electrophysiological testing (e.g. ABR, OAE) and advanced diagnostic techniques
* Evidence of working at managerial level, including operational service delivery and staff management
* Demonstrated involvement in service development, transformation projects, or leading quality improvement initiatives
* Experience of financial responsibilities such as procurement, budget monitoring or resource allocation
* Experience of teaching, training or presenting to a range of audiences including staff, students, external professionals
Desirable
* Significant clinical experience in paediatric audiology, including work with infants, children with complex needs, and rehabilitation
Knowledge Essential
* In‑depth theoretical and practical knowledge of paediatric audiology, advanced test techniques and national standards (e.g. BSA, MCHAS, NHSP)
* Knowledge and practical experience of paediatric hearing aid fitting, verification (REM/RECD) and rehabilitation pathways
* Knowledge of ABR peer review and quality assurance processes
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of digital hearing aid technology and software
* Understanding of service accreditation (IQIPS) and clinical governance frameworks
Skills Essential
* Excellent IT skills, including use of patient management systems (Auditbase, Cerner or equivalent), MS Office and audiology software
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex information and present clearly in reports and presentationsStrong organisational and time management skills; able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
* Demonstrate clear clinical reasoning based on evidence‑based practice
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, active listening and negotiation
