Public Procurement and State Aid Lawyer (3–5 PQE)

A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Public Procurement and State Aid Lawyer (3–5 years PQE) to join its growing Competition, EU and Trade team, with opportunities to work on complex, high-profile matters across the UK and Europe.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to contribute to a dynamic practice advising on:
1. The Public Contracts Regulations 2015, and/or the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, Procurement Act 2023
2. UK Subsidy Control, EU State Aid, and related trade law matters
Ideal Candidate
3. 3–5 years PQE with experience in public procurement law
4. Familiarity with UK subsidy control and/or EU State Aid (or a desire to develop in these areas)
5. Strong legal research and analytical skills, particularly in complex regulatory areas
6. A commercial, pragmatic mindset with an eye for risk-based solutions
7. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, client-focused approach

8. Advising a major government department on a national procurement programme
9. Advising an international client in relation to a public procurement law dispute
10. Supporting multinational corporations in subsidy-related judicial reviews
11. Providing guidance on cross-border trade implications under UK–EU agreements
