About the Role
Richmond Business School is expanding its Digital and Creative Industries provision and has opened a new, purpose-built digital and creative suites to support learners who want to enter the creative sector, upskill for employment, or develop their freelance/business portfolio.
We are now recruiting variable hours (hourly-paid) Tutors with current industry expertise in coding/AI development/ Data analytics with familiarity with some or all of the following topics:
Python (Intro): setup, data types, variables, built-in functions/methods, functions, conditionals, simple program
Experience teaching data analysis / data science using Python (pandas, basic stats, model concepts) or applied ML awareness
Technical competence in Python-based neural network training and evaluation—including train/validation/test splitting, loss/accuracy metrics, gradient descent, hyperparameter tuning, inference, and PyTorch workflows such as using pre-trained models, GPU training scripts, image preprocessing, normalisation, data augmentation, batched data loaders, and saving/loading model checkpoints.
Teach SQL for data querying and analysis, using real-world datasets and decision-making scenarios.

You will teach short introductory courses and accredited awards delivered onsite in our specialist suite. This is an excellent opportunity for practitioners who want flexible teaching hours and the chance to help develop new local talent for the London economy.
What you will do
Deliver engaging, practical sessions that build skills and confidence
Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of course content and learning materials
Assess learner work where required and provide clear, constructive feedback
Work collaboratively with Programme Managers and the wider team
Attend termly team meetings and participate in CPD/training to keep practice current

Ability to explain concepts clearly to mixed-level adult learners (beginners included)
Professional, reliable, learner-centred approach and a commitment to inclusive practice
Teaching qualification
Applicants should either:
Hold a recognised teaching qualification, or
Be willing to undertake one (through the College or independently via another provider)

About You
You will have excellent subject knowledge in computer science and strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to adult learners with varying levels of experience. Ideally, you will also bring recent or relevant industry experience and can demonstrate a learner-centred approach that stretches and challenges individuals appropriately.
Desirable qualifications and experience
Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent)
Minimum 1–2 years’ teaching experience
Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA/TAAQ or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
If you are not yet fully qualified to teach
Applicants with strong industry experience, some teaching/training experience, and the right approach are welcome. If you do not already hold the required teaching and assessing qualifications, you will need to undertake RHACC’s internal teacher training route, typically progressing through:
Level 3 Award in Education and Training
TAQA Assessor qualification
Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
