Technical Procurement Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Procurement Manager to take the lead on sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost optimisation across a range of complex categories. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a well-established organisation in the industrial and logistics sector, shaping procurement processes and driving continuous improvement across the business.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure value, quality, and compliance, while playing a key role in delivering innovation and efficiency across transport, logistics, automation, and customs categories.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead procurement activities across a broad range of technical and operational categories, including transport, logistics, automation, and customs
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance, and service quality
• Drive supplier performance and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic sourcing initiatives that align with business objectives
• Monitor market trends and use insights to inform procurement strategy and decision-making
• Act as a trusted partner to operational teams, providing procurement expertise and commercial guidance
Key Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement at senior buyer or management level within a large, complex organisation
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
• Background in transport, logistics, or automation procurement highly desirable
• Degree-level education or professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS) preferred
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and project management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Resilient, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
