Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Duties
* Provide personal care and assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Assist with medication administration and monitor client health as required.
* Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed for clients with specific challenges.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities when necessary.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's overall quality of life.
Experience
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is advantageous.
* Experience in caregiving roles that involve first aid knowledge is preferred.
* A background in childcare may also be beneficial for certain client needs.
