The role involves managing new build and refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on residential sector projects.
The business operates nationwide, with a specific need for a Clerk of Works to manage sites in the Southern region. You will work alongside 4 other Clerks of Works, sharing sites based on location and capacity.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Conduct regular site visits, primarily in the south of the UK (including Essex, Kent, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire)
* Inspect contractors' work according to specifications, plans, and building regulations
* Write reports and upload photos as part of site documentation
* Identify and report defects
* Engage with clients, often in demanding situations
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experienced construction professional, such as a clerk of works, building control/warranty inspector, or site manager
* Previous experience in the residential sector is preferred
* Good knowledge of building regulations and ability to read construction drawings
* Report writing skills, with the ability to provide evidence if required
* Strong client-facing skills, with demonstrable experience advantageous
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* CSCS Card or equivalent
* Formal qualification in construction, engineering, or project management is a plus but not essential
