The role
As a Mechanical Fitter – Utilities, you’ll take on a role that’s essential to the safe and reliable running of HMNB Clyde. As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner, Babcock provides specialist engineering support across critical infrastructure, including the management and maintenance of complex mechanical and nuclear facilities.
This is hands‑on engineering with a real‑world impact. You’ll investigate and diagnose faults, keep vital mechanical systems running efficiently, and ensure key infrastructure remains fully operational. Every day will stretch your skills, build your expertise, and offer the satisfaction that your work directly supports national defence.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
This is a full‑time, permanent role, working Monday to Thursday, 36 hours per week, giving you a three‑day weekend, based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.
