Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Good" primary school in Widnes as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support the EYFS and KS2 classes. This is a long-term role consisting of mornings with the EYFS class and afternoons across Key Stage 2 classes.
Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant in this school, you will be supporting students with SEN across the EYFS and Key Stage 2 classes. Your mornings will consist of working in the EYFS class, supporting students with early onset SEN (undiagnosed) on a 1:1 and group basis with a focus on speech and language development. Your afternoons will include supporting the Key Stage classes with SEN support (ADD, ADHD and dyslexia) supporting students on a 1:1 basis across all KS2 year groups. Due to the nature of the role, you will regularly liaise with class teachers, SENCO, and parents/guardians on pupils' progress.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you must have referenceable experience working with children and young people with SEN (special educational needs) in a voluntary or professional capacity, as well as:
1. Experience working with ADD, ADHD and/or dyslexia
2. The ability to effectively identify pupils triggers/shortfalls and manage accordingly
3. The ability to make strong constructive relationships
